ANNOUNCEMENTS

Stewardship from Romans 3:19-28: The Epistle for Reformation Sunday reminds us Christian stewards that we do not do our stewardship with the motive of winning God’s favor and blessings. Our good works can never save us, but because we are saved we will do good works, including all we do in the name of stewardship.
Life Quote: “Abortion is the most tragic consequence of a culture that is infatuated with sex, youth, and immediate gratification. Ours is a culture with little regard for the weakest, the most vulnerable, the most needy. Make no mistake, this view of life as disposable has tremendous consequences also for the elderly! Some 80 percent of the elderly cared for in nursing homes are visited by virtually no one! No wonder there is a constant and steady push to liberalize laws to “euthanize” (put to death) the incapacitated elderly. Jesus has a different viewpoint. Life is a blessed gift, from conception to natural death, and it is to be valued and treasured. ‘Whatsoever you have done to the least of these my brethren, you have done it also unto me’” (Matthew 25:45). Rev. Matthew Harrison, Executive Director, LCMS World Relief and Human Care. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life / www.lutheransforlife.org / 888-364-LIFE

He has made it clear that, while we now see through a mirror dimly and know only in part, one day we shall understand fully and see Him face to face. This is our hope that the hymn writer says, ‘is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.’” Rev. Homer Larson, speaker on the Christian Crusaders radio broadcast. Stewardship: Luke 17:11-19: The story of the ten lepers reminds us to always receive blessings from God with thanksgiving. In other words we practice good stewardship not in order to be saved, but because we are saved.
Life Quote: “A woman’s right to choose what? Death over life, destruction over preservation, the possibility of killing the next Einstein, Beethoven, or Lincoln in the womb? The right to choose a life of wondering what the baby would have looked like, knowing that no matter what the politically correct crowd says she has destroyed an innocent being, no matter how embryonic.” Charlie Daniels, singer and songwriter.
