Life Quote: “Christians must realize that abortion—and the pandemic of devaluing life abortion spawns—is a spiritual issue. There will be ‘nothing new under the sun’ regarding the sanctity of human life until Christians realize this, act upon it, and bring their influence to bear to transform a society obsessed with death into a society that upholds the preciousness of life.” Rev. Dr. James I. Lamb, executive director of Lutherans For Life. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life / www.lutheransforlife.org / 888-364-LIFE

Stewardship in 1 Peter 3:13-22: St. Peter reminds us that we may suffer for what is right, but we will be blessed in doing so. People who do not understand true Christian stewardship may shake their heads when they see us using generous portions of our time, talent and treasure for the work of the Lord. But we Christian stewards know in doing the Lord’s work we are doing the right things and building up treasures for the new life to come.

Life Quote: "There . . . continues to be, enormous fallout from the deaths of over 48 million unborn children . . . with damage not only to women's health and psyche, but also to her relationship with the baby's father . . . The good news is that as more post-abortion healing and helping takes place, there will be more mothers and fathers to stand beside us and spread the word that abortion kills children and hurts their parents." Olivia Gans, director, American Victims of Abortion. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life / www.lutheransforlife.org / 888-364-LIFE

Stewardship: 1 Peter 2:2-10: St. Peter reminds us in this text that at one time we were "no people" (that is, people without Christ), but now we are the people of God who are equipped for every good work. Among other things, that means using all we are and have for God's purposes. That's at the heart of Christian stewardship.

Stewardship Today: 1 Peter 2:19-25: Jesus was God’s Chief Steward in doing perfectly the will of His Father. But as He did so, He endured extreme suffering. We will never have to endure the same suffering that Jesus experienced but sometimes we may be considered foolish for using a generous portion of our time, talents and money for the Lord’s work. In the eyes of unbelievers that is a waste of resources, but in the eyes of us Christians that is good stewardship!

It was a great blood drive and we look forward to working with you in November at your next drive. Thanks Nancy Pretre.
